70.German WW2 army italian manufactured M43 style field cap. Interesting example made in Italian wool with dark green wooden? buttons. The eagle and cockade look foretign made also, so may be Italian. They are machine woven, bevo style, on a field gray backing that looks to possibley be rayon. Interior is a wool Italian lining material and is size stamped "56". Neat variant example in near mint to mint condition. SOLD

71.German
WWII army administrative officials old style "crusher" field
cap. Super nice example with all aluminum flatwire bevo
insignia, which looks original to the cap. Piping is the
typical dark green for army officials. The cap material
itself is a smooth nice quality wool, perfect for a walking
out uniform or a field uniform. The leather visor has that
great weathered look to it, often seen on crushers. Interior
lining is gold rayon and is stamped with the "Stirndruckfrei
Deutsches Reichspatent" copyright, most often associated
with Peküro manufactured caps. The sweatband has wear,
a tear or 2 and is partially resewn/repaired, but overall
just has a nice well used look and is original to the cap.
Cap size is approx. a 55 or 56. Overall used, but not
abused. Decent example of a scarce cap. $2150

72.German
WWII Deutsche Jägerschaft hunting hat. Rare example,
the only one I have ever seen. Gray wool with green trim and
green band. Aluminum civil national eagle emblem. On the
left side there is the typical Reichs cockade with boars'
hair decoration. Interior is nice with leather sweatband and
worn manufacturer emblem. There are a couple small moth
tracks to the underside of the brim and a black stain of
some sort in the back of the cap. Overall excellent+ and the
only example of this cap I have ever seen. Choice!

73.German
WWII SA Bergmütze for group Hochland. Very scarce cap
in the form of a moutain cap with a shorter brim than the
standard field cap. The material is a standard SA brown
cloth. The left side has the edelweiss sewn on a patch of
light blue cloth representing group Hochland. Also the eagle
in the front is silver, and in the political form. Interior
is maked "57" for the size and it has a full leather
sweatband with RZM tag underneath. Cap has only light wear,
but has a couple repairs on the left side with matching
cloth, but they are very well done, possibley period done,
as the material is exactly the same. Otherwise just a couple
moth tracks. Beautiful cap overall, first one I've ever seen
of this type. VERY RARE!

74.German WWII waffen-SS
enlisted panzer M43 field cap. Beautiful unissued, dachau
manufactured example. Late war black panzer wool, as used by
the SS. Trapezoid insignia is original to the cap, factory
machine sewn. It is the embroidered "pirate" skull type on
black wool, which is correct for this cap. Buttons are the
correct black plastic/bakelite type and are originally sewn
to the cap. Interior is the textbook gray cotton with the
hbt weave to it. Underside of visor is raw cardboard
(someone wrote some numbers on it). Interior size is stamped
"56" in purple ink. Cap is absolutely textbook and is in
near mint condition. If you want one, this is perfect. $2950

75.German
WWII army officer's M43 field cap. Very nice worn example
made from standard officer trikot material. The piping shows
wear from being out in the field and most of the "silver" is
gone from the cord. The cap was probably denazified, as the
insignia is replaced, probably done post war. Interior
lining of the cap is gold rayon and is size marked "56".
Overall nice, example showing real field use. Great for an
officer's trikot field tunic. Scarce. $1150

76.German
WW2 NSDAP (Nazi Party) Reichs (national) level visor cap!
Nicest one I've ever seen for this level! Very light
gaberdine cloth top in a lighter shade of brown, lemon
yellow piping, matching gold eagle/swastica and buttons.
Chincord is celleon. Interior is gold silk with full
sweatdiamond and is named on the size tag in the slot. It is
marked size 58. Only the slightlest hint it was ever worn,
can be seen in the forehead area of the leather sweatband.
RZM tag is underneath. The cap is near mint and is the
finest example I have ever seen. It would be almost
impossible to ever upgrade this cap. What more can I say,
top shelf piece. SOLD

77.German
WWII Kriegsmarine company grade (Leutnant zur See to
Kapitänleutnant) officers' visor cap. This is one of my
favorite examples of the KM officer cap and was purchased
from the son of the German WW2 submarine veteran who owned
it. First, it is a late wartime (probably 1943-44) example
in a high quality officer grade wool with gorgeous
untouched, age-toned matching hand embroidered eagle, wreath
and visor rank edging. Chinstrap is a nearly perfect patent
leather version and the gold anchor buttons are superb. The
interior lining is a bronze satin, to me, denoting a later
manufacture, using what material was available. The
celluloid sweatdiamond is complete and intact. The sweatband
is a pressed paper type, also denoting a measure of economy,
later in the war. It has a couple tears, but it is complete.
The cap is actually in unissued condition and seems to
exhibit wear from storage and handling. The cap band is very
floppy and the cap displays outstandingly on a mannequin
head and should be on one to bring it's true shape out. The
size is about a 56 or so. I bought the cap from the son of
the man who owned it. Last year he passed away and the son
said he had no use for his dad's Kriegsmarine items. His dad
was an auto mechanic by trade and at 18 had joined the
Kriegsmarine and enlisted in the U-Boot service. He was
assignment in 1941 to U-757, under Friederich Deetz. From
what I can understand from his letter, had had an injury and
was hospitalized. During his time in the hospital, the U757
was sunk, with all hands lost. (You can look this up online)
He says this took place on January 8th, 1944. The injury
saved his life. Afterwards, he was given the visor cap as a
remembrance of his service, possibley by the area commander,
being that he was the lone servivor. He still has the photos
album from his dad that he would not sell. One photo shows
the Dragon on the conning tower of the U757. Extremely nice
example as found in untouched condition. $4700

78.German WWII army officer's
M38 field cap. Really nice, doe-skin private purchase
example in a light field gray color. Silver piped around the
crown and front scallop. Silver flatwire eagle is hand sewn
to front in a trapezoid shape. Looks to originally had a
flat bevo cockade, so this is probably replaced. Soutache on
the front is for an Army official (or administrative
officer). Interior is gold silk and unmarked. Full sweatband
around the lining. Sweatband has a tear, about 1" long, but
nothing bad. Size is approx. a 57 or so. No mothing. Overall
a very nice example.

79.German
WWII Kriegsmarine helferin (female) M43 field cap. Very
scarce cap introduced by the Kriegsmarine for helferin in
1943. (see "Kriegsmarine Uniforms and Traditions", vol 2,
page 373,374.) Cap is in "medical gray" as per regulations
and has only the German navy national emblem on the top,
which is correct for helferin. Pebbled buttons are a
blue-gray navy color. Interior is rayon lined, dated 1944,
RB numbered and size marked "58", Partial sweatband for the
forehead is there, but has some loose stitching. Cap is
overall very good, but does show wear from use and is a
"been there' piece. Very scarce cap to find. $750

80.German WWII Luftwaffe 1st model officer's visor cap. This style insignia, with the droop-tail eagle was worn 1935-1937. Nice early example with a doe-skin top! Insignia is all orignal to the cap. Nice shape to it. The visor has crazing lines and lots of character. Interior is gold silk, and maker marked to August Müller. Celluloid sweat diamond is intact. Owner's initials are written in the lining "A.O.". Cap size is about a 56 or 57. Sweatband has been restitched in some areas, but the cap has no mothing, just age and a lot of character. The officer's cap with the first model eagle is very hard to find. Super example. SOLD

81.German WWII army enlisted/nco M42 field cap. Nice example obtained from the late Mike Beaver. "T" style eagle and cockade insignia are hand sewn, so may be replaced, though they look really good. Buttons have remnants of their field gray paint. Grommets have all their field gray paint intact. Wool is in outstanding condition, except for the stains on the left side and the left front flap. Interior is a gray/brown cotton type and is dated 1942 and made by Willi Sprengfeil and marked size 56. Very nice example. $599

82.German
WW2 army panzergrenadier officers visor cap. Super example
with a great saddle shape by "Marke ODD", which is Otto
Dittman Mutzenfabrik, Dresden (thanks Chris). Nice
embroidered wreath to the front and metal eagle. This
example has a celleon chincord that has always been on it
and actually has an age patina to it. Looks great on the
cap. The piping is the typical lime green (grass green)
branch color for panzergrenadier and, I think, is possibley
silk. The interior is nearly unique to Marke Odd caps,
having a qulited look to it. Lining itself is a steel gray
rayon. The logo is mostly still intact, impressed on the
rayon, under the celluloid diamond, in gold and red ink.
Sweatband is black pressed paper. On it are impressed the
initials "K F". The interior shows some minor soiling from
use on the lining and the visor bottom where the thimb would
pick it up. Otherwise it is extremely clean and I would rate
it excellent+. Size is approx a 56. One of the scarcer army
pipings to find. Beautiful example.SOLD

83.German
WW2 Luftwaffe lamb skin winter cap. Really nice, well marked
example with insignia all original to it. Eagle is machine
sewn. Cockade is hand sewn. Flaps unbutton and fold down to
expose ear openings with snaps (Prym marked). Interior has a
tag with the maker (Berolina), dated 1942 and the the size
(57). White side has some light soiling and the puff cockade
has a couple moth nips, nothing bad. Actually one of the
best examples of this type of cap I have seen. SOLD

84.German WW2 Organization Todt
tropical summer "M41" style cap. Great, unique cap I have
not seen before. Recently turned up from a veteran's estate.
Made from a light weight olive tropical material, similar to
the Heer tropical caps. It does not, however, have the fake
upturned side skirts. The OT trapazoid is factory machine
sewn to the front. The very top of the hat is even made from
a different shade of the same material. It has 2 side vent
grommets, like a standard tropical cap. The interior is gold
rayon lined and probably is inticative of French
manufacture. It is size stamped "58" and there was another
stamp next to it, which has rubbed mostly off, which was
most likely the "O.T'" stamp. Sweatband is of an ersatz
leather type. Very nice, scarce piece of headgear to a
para-military organization. $625

85.German
WW2 Luftwaffe officers summer white top visor cap. Decent
example, all complete with removable "snap-off" white backed
bullion eagle. Interior is white rayon lined with a full
celluloid sweat diamond maker marked "Deutsche Facharbeit"
with oakleaves and acorns design logo. Top is extra padded,
almost a winter version of this cap. Sweatband is an ersatz
type and looks to have been resewn in a couple areas, but
not hing bad. Removable cap top is a snap-on type, but has
lost the snap on the cover. Still fits well and tight.
Overall nice example that has a nice "crusher" look to it.

86.Norwegian
WWII kepi style cap for the "Unghird", which was the
eqiuvelent of the German "HJ" or youth organization for the
Norwegian Nazi party. Cap is made from dark blue wool and
has a leather chinstrap. The National Socialist sun cross
eagle is silver, which is correct for this organization. The
interior has the remnants of a size or maker tag, and also
this cap has hidden fold-down ear covers for the cold
Norwegian winters. Under them is another tag with numbers.
Size is approx. a 56. The cap has light overall wear and is
near excellent. Very scarce cap, first one I have ever seen.

87.German
WW2 Luftwaffe officers summer white top visor cap. Nice
example made by Erel. Really neat "waffle" pattern top with
original removable white backed bullion eagle with metal
prongs on back. The cap is neat for a couple reasons. First,
the size tag is still in the rear "54". Secondly the price
tag is still pasted on the sweatband! Cap is also early,
dated 1940 under the sweatband. Cap shows normal wear from
use, but is high excellent overall and has a great "crusher"
appearance. Nice example. SOLD
